Hi! I’m Debra Wilson Guttas.

My clients have coined me the Life Transition Doula(TM) and I am here to support you in “birthing” the next phase of your life.

I am a coach, Reiki Master, professional speaker and author of the forthcoming book “Personal & Business Success through the 7 Gateways – Spiritual & Practical Tools for Crafting Your Life from the Inside Out“.

I have merged over 20 years experience as a coach, professional speaker and energy practitioner to create my powerful signature programs to assist you in crafting the next phase of your life with more purpose and passion – QUICKLY!

I was certified as a Reiki Master in 2000 and I am also a Healing Touch Program Practitioner.

My journey into my work as a life coach and integrative energy practitioner began the same as many of my clients, perhaps very similar to your own life story.

My parents divorced when I was in kindergarten. Although my dad lived close by, I didn’t get to see him very often; usually about twice a year at Christmas and my birthday. Sometimes in-between I’d get to spend the weekend with him and we’d go camping or motorcycle riding – things my mom and I never did.

I craved the visits with my dad. Then when I was with him, I dreaded going home and returning to waiting for him to call again.

As a result I dealt with many feelings of loss and abandonment due to his absence in my life.

My mom remarried when I was about 11 to a man who was physically abusive of me and emotionally and verbally abusive of her.

All of this impacted my ability as I was growing up to feel like I fit in. I always felt different than the other kids.

In my early twenties I was tormented by my difficulty in forming relationships, especially with men. I always seemed to end up with men who were emotionally unavailable to me.

I also had difficulty in not only creating, but maintaining, success in my life. I lived my life with this overriding feeling of “waiting for the other shoe to drop”. Whenever I reached a certain level of success in my work or career I would have this fear that it was all going to end, because it usually did!

It was a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I was managing a six-figure project for a very large technology firm in the mid-nineties when I was introduced to Reiki as part of a massage I had at the hotel I was staying at.

I didn’t know about Reiki at the time, or energy work for that matter, but I knew I had just experienced what I believed to be a life-changing experience. I didn’t completely understand or know what had occurred, but something had changed. I felt different.

Today as a practitioner I often notice the same quality about my clients after an energy session. They often look “lighter”.

A seed was planted.

What I know now is that as a result of my childhood I had an unconscious belief that I didn’t have control over my happiness. The adults in my life as a child had determined that for me!

What I also know is that your own personal journey, your life path and experiences, traumas and pain all impact your ability to show up fully in the world. In a sense you’ve been “set up” to respond to life events in a certain way.

There’s science now that proves that there are neurological shifts that occur in the parasympathetic and autonomic nervous systems, especially from early childhood traumas, that “wire” you to emotionally respond to current life events from the old, unresolved emotional place.

In other words, any time you have a current life event that “feels” the same or has the same emotional quality of an old, unresolved emotional wound, you are “triggered” to respond from that same place – it can feel like you are completely out of control of your actions. You can see yourself about to “go down the rabbit hole” but you can’t seem to stop yourself.

Do you know what I mean? Ever felt that?

It’s so frustrating isn’t it?

While psychotherapy was useful in its ability to help me understand the connection between my childhood and the patterns I created in my life over and over, it didn’t resolve the emotional triggers I felt.

The only thing that fully resolved that for me is the healing power of Reiki.

I was trained as a coach in the mid-90’s when no one knew what a coach was! When I told someone I was a coach they’d ask me “You mean a sport coach?”

I didn’t totally process what occurred for me during that initial Reiki session, and how it impacted my life, until probably years later. But that was because I didn’t have anyone to help me connect what happened to me in a practical way in my life. I had to figure it out on my own!

But you don’t have to! It doesn’t have to take you years to create the change you want in your life.

Everyday I am blessed to help clients move quickly through this process of both healing and creating transformation in their life. I help them make the connection in a practical way to what’s occurred for them on an energetic level to the changes they can now create in their life – with ease. I support them in clarifying what kind of life they want to create with more purpose and passion.

Energy work, along with the right guidance and support of a coach, is utterly powerful in its ability to create real life transformation, quickly!

It doesn’t have to take you years to create change.

You don’t have to flounder around trying to figure out what step to take next or wrestle over what’s the “right” decision for you.

When you get all of the energetic “muck” out of the way you have crystal clarity about what’s right for you.

You are a magnet for all the things that are in perfect alignment with what you want to create in your life.

There’s ease and flow in your life.

You are at peace.

Just in case you’re wondering…this photo was taken on a hike with my husband at Torrey Pines State Park in San Diego, CA. I looked over the cliff and saw Namaste written in the sand, upside-down perhaps by our perspective, but I loved it anyway.
